Maria de Madariaga has worked in the art world for over 28 years.

Founded in 2002, MDM Art advisory offers independent, thorough and research-driven services to individuals and organisations looking to create collections of value and originality.

We offer new and experienced collectors invaluable insight by balancing art historical perspective with their own interests and tastes. Collecting is an active and very personal pursuit, and the relationships we build with our clients through art are deeply rewarding. The primary focus is on Modern, Post-War and Contemporary.

Maria de Madariaga draws on extensive experience in the art world to help collectors enhance their decision making process. Drawing upon years of experience, as well as with deep connections with galleries, dealers, collectors and auction houses, we are able to pinpoint opportunities. Equally, MDM can bring together buyers and sellers of significant art pieces with discretion and expertise.

Growing up in Europe, immersed in an environment of collecting/raised by two collectors, Maria’s early experiences, cemented her lifelong passion for art. She began her career at MoMA and at Christie’s Munich and Madrid while still at University and then back to MoMA and Pace Gallery on 57th street.

Maria attended Edinburgh University and holds an M.A. in Art History from Columbia University where she studied with Rosalind Krauss, Jonathan Crary and Benjamin Buchloh.

Currently living in London with her husband, two dogs and with a son at University in the US.
